Richard Kern is one of the most transgressive masters of our time. He was born in 1954 in the state of North Carolina where he attended art studies. He has lived and worked in New York since 1979, the year in which he began photographing drug dealers and penniless artists and friends who frequented his studio. He shot some rather racy and outrageous short films, which suddenly went around the world, giving him notoriety.
