Kleudgen Von Fritz was born in Wurzburg in 1846, son of an ancient nobility family. He attended the Dresden Art Academy under the guidance of the masters Adrian Ludwig Richter and Schonleber. After traveling to Naples and Venice, in 1874 he settled in Bordighera, fascinated by the beauty of the landscape. He builds a villa that he calls "Villa Banana", from which he admires the sea on which he paints numerous paintings that portray the force of nature. Among his most famous works are the "Fish Nest" and the "Sea Serpent", present in the Clarence Bicknell museum and library, while some of his paintings are preserved in the town hall of Bordighera and in private collections. Another great passion of the painter was the paths of Bordighera. Kleudgen Von Fritz died on 22 June 1924 in Bordighera, at the age of 68.
