Konstantin A. Korvin was a painter, engraver and theater decorator, born in Moscow in 1861 and died in Paris in 1939. He studied in Moscow and Paris, becoming one of the first Russian painters to delve into European-inspired color research. Since the 1890s, he has been part of the Ambulanti, a group of artists committed to promoting art outside academic norms. Among his most famous works are the decorations for the Nizhny-Novgorod Exhibition of 1896 and the decorative panels created for the Paris Universal Exhibition of 1900. He also carried out an intense activity as a theater decorator, working for the Mamontov Theater , the Great Theater in Moscow and the Mariinsky in Petersburg. Among his most famous works in this field, we can mention the performance of "The Inspector General", the decorations of "Aida" and "La Kovancina" and the famous ballet "Swan Lake", commissioned by SP Diaghilev. Korovin also worked as a graphic designer for the magazine "Mir Isskusstva" from 1889 to 1893. In 1924 he moved to Paris, where he joined impressionism.
