Antonino La Barbera was born in Mazzara del Vallo in 1945 and attended the Art Institutes of Messina and Palermo. Since 1962 he has lived and worked in Rome. Thanks to his artistic activity, he has received numerous prizes and recognitions including the UNESCO prize in 2001. In recent years he has dedicated himself to the creation of monothematic exhibitions including "A Charlot", "...of the water of the earth.. .", "Homage to Women" and "Mirabilia Urbis Romae". His artistic research follows a path that seeks harmony outside of rigid and rational rules. Through the chaos and reversibility of the corruption-reconstruction reaction, La Barbera always creates new possibilities for harmony that recall the myths of previous cultures. His paravirtual figuration, fluid in form and ideas, is the result of a continuous metamorphosis made possible also thanks to the intervention of re-painting once the painting is finished. His works present diaphanous and lemniscal presences that restore the artistic language of La Barbera, rich in a solar soul and divine vibration.
