Nils Landberg, originally from Sweden, was a renowned glass designer. After completing his studies at the prestigious Gothenburg School of Industrial Design, he joined the renowned Orrefors printmaking school, where he began his career as an apprentice draftsman. Although his early commercial work was limited, in the late 1940s he developed a revolutionary technique in thin glass, which brought him recognition and celebration in the design field. One of his best-known designs is the Tulip series, which dates back to 1953. Over the years, Landberg has constantly enriched the series' prototypes by adding new shapes and colors. He continued to work at Orrefors until his dismissal in 1972, each year refining his previous designs and introducing new ones that testify to his continuous pursuit of innovation and creativity.
