Lando Landozzi (Pisa 1887- Livorno 1959) is a painter of Pisan origin who, despite being among the founders of the Labronico Group in 1920, does not identify with the Livorno pictorial tradition. His style, characterized by a strong caricatural attitude, represents the difficult living conditions of the people, often in comical and tragic situations, especially after the Second World War. Landozzi Lando shows the most authentic Livorno, without hiding anything, and portrays, alms, the popular neighborhoods such as La Venezia and the market area, where everyday life translated into a struggle for survival. The faces of the characters represented, often known in the city, are almost deformed to emphasize their human miseries. The artist is also famous for his portrait-caricatures of other painters and held the role of artistic director of the humorous magazine Il Beffardo. Although he was not particularly attracted by painting prizes, he participated in many exhibitions starting from 1929.
