Giulio Lazzotti Biography
Giulio Lazzotti was born in Pietrasanata (LU) in 1943. He graduated in architecture from the University of Florence, where he worked as an assistant from 1973 to 1975. In 1979 he obtained an Oscar award for the best furnishing project at the Moving in Paris and in 1982 he received first prize. From 1972 to 1982 he worked as artistic director at CAMP (Consortium of Artisans of Composite Marble). In 1983 his works were exhibited at the MoMA in New York. He has served on several juries, such as those for the MENHIR and IMHOTHEP awards, in Barcelona and Valencia respectively. Since 1991 he has established a close professional relationship with Kan Yasuda, following his exhibitions in Milan, at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park and in Pietrasanta, and working as creative director for his monographic books. He taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, on the Marble Design course, from 1991 to 1993. He deals with architecture, interior design, business consultancy, street furniture and restoration. He carries out his business in Italy, the United States, South America and Japan and resides and works in Pietrasanta.
