Fabio Lenci Biography
FABIO LENCI was born in Rome on 1 July 1935 and graduated in 1953 as Industrial Technical Expert with a few years of apprenticeship at the family construction company. He carried out his military service in the Air Force as a Pilot, and since 1965, after an experience as a trader of modern furniture and as an interior designer, he indulged his true passion by dedicating himself almost exclusively to industrial design, designing around 700 "pieces" to date. serials in various product fields. In 1962 he won the Fiera Trieste Award for the design of modular furniture. Some of his projects have been exhibited in various exhibitions, such as the temporary exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Philadelphia Museum and the Beijing Design Museum. He achieved prestigious successes in the design of furniture and services for well-being and the bathroom, some of which, made by FRAU and TEUCO, were chosen to represent Italian design at the "WORLD EXPO 1988" exhibition held in BRISBANE (Australia). Other awards come from ADI selections for the Compasso D'Oro with products made by TEUCO, a company of the Guzzini Group, which was founded in 1970, from projects by Fabio Lenci, innovative and revolutionary in the bathroom sector. At the end of '79, with a trimaran he designed and built together with his wife Birgitta and friends, he sailed for more than a year between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and upon his return together with his daughters Maela and Juna he founded first Studio Lenci and then Lenci Design srl becoming a structured structure with designers, engineers, architects and graphic designers, supported by an industrial prototyping and modeling laboratory.
