Nello Lenzi, born in Quarrata, in the province of Pistoia, is recognized as the founder of the furniture company of the same name. From a young age, together with his brother Guido, he contributed to his father's activities in the mattress sector. In 1928, the two brothers founded a lounge factory that grew steadily to employ more than 500 workers in the post-war period. When it was built, the "Glass Palace", headquarters of the Lenzi company, represented the largest furniture exhibition in all of Tuscany. Although the company no longer exists, the name continues to identify the area of ​​the city in which it was located. Thanks to his factories, Lenzi contributed to stimulating the economy of Quarrata. Many of the workers of the Lenzi company were able to open carpentry and upholstery workshops, thus keeping the tradition of Quarrata furniture factories alive.
