Emilio Leofreddi was born in Rome in 1958. At the beginning of the 1990s he designed installations with videos and performances dealing with political and social issues.
His first installation "Balene", against whaling, sponsored by Greenpeace and financed by Mario Schifano, dates back to 1992, and the work "Contact" against the death penalty, sponsored by Amnesty International and Hands Off Cain, dates back to 1993.
In 1999 he founded the collective art studio Ice Badile Studio in Rome, together with Ivan Barlafante, Claudio di Carlo and Andrea Orsini; again in 1999 he exhibited his solo exhibition "Human being" at the MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) in Washington DC (USA)
In 2004 he began working on the journey as a work of art and on the travel diary to be created on Tibetan carpets and Indian tents.
