Auguste-Louis Lepère (Paris, 30 November 1849 - Domme, 20 November 1918) was a French painter and printmaker. At the age of thirteen, Auguste Louis Lepère began his artistic training in the Parisian studio of the engraver, Smeeton. Lepère mainly focuses on everyday life in his etchings and woodcuts. He is currently famous for his innovations, such as the use of colored paper. The last years of Auguste Lepère's life were dedicated almost exclusively to wood engraving. In total, his graphic work consists of over 150 etchings, over 200 woodcuts and 14 lithographs.
