Claude Lhoste was born in 1929 and had a passion for animals from an early age. Not being able to bring home the animal of his desires, he began to observe the nature around him, discovering the mystery of these perfect beings. As an adult, he surrounded himself with an entire menagerie and began sculpting animals and shapes inspired by his observation of nature.
Lhoste's art arose from his long observation of animal habits and visual and emotional shock. The original form, in fact, became essence, a scenario through which movement was expressed. Lhoste was also a designer curious about new techniques and eager to master them.
His bronze sculptures were captured in their most significant attitudes and imbued with tenderness, humor and love. The forms modeled by Claude Lhoste are a brilliant hymn to sculpture and life.
