(Lucca 1922 - Lido di Camaiore, Lucca 2004). He did his apprenticeship as an artist in the studio of the painter-sculptor Niccolò Codino. Friend of the Versilian writer Enrico Pea, thanks to him he came into contact with the protagonists of twentieth-century Italian art, such as Carlo Carrà, Ernesto Treccani and Raffaele De Grada. Anti-fascist, he actively participated in the Resistance. In 1948 he set up his first and largest exhibition in Milan. The artistic commitment, initially parallel to the political commitment in the PCI, became prevalent.
