Lisa Licitra Ponti Biography

Lisa Ponti was born in 1922 in Milan. What most of all marked his professional life and his artistic production was the bond with his father Gio Ponti, one of the most important Italian architects, designers and artists of the 20th century. Lisa grows up in a home where art and design are always present and her passion for art soon becomes an important part of her life.
His first publication came in 1941, thanks to his father, with the book of poems "Gio Ponti to friends". In 1946 he published his first collection of fairy tales entitled "The Magic Wardrobe". After graduating in Aesthetic Philosophy, she began collaborating with Gio Ponti on the editorial staff of Stile and Domus from 1940 to 1979. Subsequently, she worked as a freelancer for various newspapers, writing about art, architecture and design.
Lisa Ponti's artistic production remained unknown to the public for a long time. His works were drawn on a simple sketchbook and characterized by a light and almost childish touch, often accompanied by nursery rhymes or short poems. His works reflect a discreet, modest and dreamy personality.
Lisa Ponti died in 2019, leaving behind a unique and precious artistic legacy.
