Enrico Butti was an Italian sculptor mainly active in Milan. Born on April 3, 1847 into a family of stonemasons and sculptors, he studied at the Brera Academy under the guidance of the famous sculptor Pietro Magni. He mainly created funerary and commemorative monuments, exhibiting successful works in numerous exhibitions. Among his most well-known works are monuments for important families in Milan and statues of illustrious figures such as Giuseppe Verdi and Tasso. In 1913, due to lung problems, he moved to Viggiù, where he continued to work until his death in 1932.
