Federico Lombardo (1970 - ) is a figurative painter, he has exhibited in various galleries in Italy and abroad. He currently lives and works in Formia. Having graduated in sculpture with maestro Augusto Perez at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, Lombardo then concentrated his work on pictorial art. His production is centered on a meticulous search for the representation of the emotional charge of the human being and the instrument of his study is the body, in all its dimensions and details. Often in his pictorial language it is possible to trace references to Renaissance painting, to which he combines a more languid and subdued component. The artist is convinced that through the face one can decipher the code that leads to the understanding of the concept of good and evil, or even more, they can transmit emotions through the anatomical variations of the muscles. Just as the eyes are defined as the mirror of the soul, the face becomes a map to understand the origin of emotions.
