The years 1948, 1950 and 1956 saw him again at the Venice Biennale. In 1952 he was invited to the National Quadrennial in Rome. In 1953 he won the competition for the chair of painting at the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, succeeding Achille Funi. He directed the Academy until 1978. He exhibited not only in Italy, but also abroad (London, New York, Paris, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Ottawa, Amsterdam, Munich, Stockholm). Artist member of the Permanente of Milan, he resides and works in Bergamo and Framura, in the province of La Spezia.
