Nino Longobardi (Naples, 1953) nourished his self-taught education above all through frequenting artists, critics and gallery owners, including Carlo Alfano and Joseph Beuys. In particular, the meeting in 1968 with Lucio Amelio opened a human and professional partnership that would continue until the gallerist's death in 1994. After having exhibited in 1978 at Gianni Pisani's studio, the artist developed pictorial and figurative research , in which the human figure becomes the prevailing form, constructed with a highly expressive sign given in pencil and charcoal.
