Vincenzo Lotti Biography
Vincenzo Lotti was born in Taggia, in the province of Imperia, in 1855. At a young age he moved to Turin, where he began his artistic training under the guidance of CF Biscarra. It was in Turin that he began to exhibit his works, painting both genre scenes and landscapes of the Western Riviera.
In 1877, he exhibited the painting Rustico at the promoters of Turin; the following year, the Taggia stream to the sea. In 1880, he presented Sulle Zattere, Venezia and, in 1882, Pascolo and A Riva Ligure.
He also took part in important national exhibitions, such as the Turin National Exhibition of 1880, where he presented the painting Cabotaggio and Villa Patrician, and the Brera Exhibition of 1881, with the painting The Frame in San Remo.
Lotti stands out above all for his unmistakable ability to capture the atmosphere of the Riviera di Ponente and the places he paints, thanks to a very high skill in chromatic tones. He died in 1926, leaving an artistic legacy of great value for the history of Italian painting.
