Bruno Lucca (1961 - ) was born in Nove in 1961, lives and works in Vicenza. It is possible to identify the beginnings of his research in abstractionism as underlined by the monochromatic aspect of the work. There is a certain recovery of Classicism in the artist's work with respect to the centrality of the figure and also with respect to a study of posture that looks both at Greek statuary and portraiture; his painting is made of very few elements. The first works created by Bruno Lucca are above all studies on the sign, they are not figurative works although in the intertwining of the signs the artist still tried to identify central, undefined forms, much less human figures. The form recognizable as human is in reality nothing but a shadow, what is represented is not the thing itself but always and only its shadow. His works derive from research on the figure in which by projecting his own shadow onto sensitive paper the artist captures that of his head, torso and body. Bruno Lucca uses only linseed oil on colored fabric, thus obtaining an effect very similar to the representation of a shadow.
