Mauro Lucco (1949 - ), born in 1949, graduated in Bologna with Carlo Volpe in 1974. After a period as Historical Inspector of Art of the Superintendence of Veneto, he returned to the university in 1982. He is currently professor of History of modern art at the University of Bologna. He has held courses and conferences in various foreign universities. He collaborates with various magazines, and is on the Advisory Board of the magazine "Artibus et Historiae". He is the author of numerous publications, among which are the volumes on Sebastiano del Piombo (1980), on Francesco da Milano (1983), and the catalogs of Paintings (1983) and Drawings (1989) of the Civic Museum of Belluno. Together with David A. Brown and Peter Humfrey, he organized the exhibition on Lorenzo Lotto (Washington, Bergamo and Paris, 1997-1998), with Peter Humfrey the exhibition on Dosso Dossi (Ferrara, New York, Los Angeles, 1998-1999) , and with Francesco Rossi, Peter Humfrey and Philip Rylands the exhibition "Bergamo. The other Venice" (Bergamo, 2001).
