A student of Giuseppe Graziosi at the Academy of Fine Arts in Modena, he also taught in Italy, at the Florentine Academy of Porta Romana, and abroad and, over the course of his career, became a great expert in high-fired cooking. fire. From 1943 to 1945 he was director of the "Royal Institute for Ceramics of Castelli". After the war he worked for many years in Florence where he created works with soft modeling and great color sensitivity, fired at high heat and with highly suggestive results. Ugo Lucerni died in Florence, his adopted city, in 1989.
