Born in Tricesimo, in the province of Udine in 1848, the sculptor Luca Madrassi studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and carried out his activity as an independent sculptor and ceramist both in Italy and in France. Born in Tricesimo, in the province of Udine in 1848, the sculptor Luca Madrassi studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris and carried out his activity as an independent sculptor and ceramist both in Italy and in France. He exhibited in 1881 and 1896 at the Société des Artistes Français in Paris. His works, often of allegorical subjects, are generally executed in an Art Nouveau style conditioned by a certain taste that lingers on neo-rococo models typical of late nineteenth-century France. He died in France in 1919.
