Carlo Magini was an Italian late Baroque painter and portraitist, born on 16 September 1720 in Fano. From a young age, he was sent to study painting and drawing in order to exploit his artistic talent. During his travels in Central Italy, he met the famous painter Francesco Mancini with whom he formed a friendship. Magini became famous for his skill as a portraitist and also produced a large quantity of still lifes. He also often received commissions from illustrious personalities, such as Pope Pius VII. He died on 3 July 1806 in Fano.
