Nataly Maier was born in 1957 in Munich. After completing her studies in Philosophy at the Leibniz Kolleg in Tübingen, she attended the Münchner Fotoschule in Munich until 1980. Since the 1980s, the artist has dedicated herself to overcoming two-dimensional photography, applying some images on three-dimensional supports to give them greater plasticity. Since 2002, his artistic research has begun to increasingly include the use of painting as a privileged language, focusing on the expressive power of colour.
His first solo exhibition took place in 1992 at the Galleria L'Attico in Rome, and he then also exhibited at the Goethe Loft in Lyon (France). In 2001 he installed a sculpture of a large lemon for the exhibition Hommage an eine Sehnsucht at the Villa Romana in Florence. In the two-year period 2010-2012, the artist obtained a scholarship at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ballycastle.
