Serafino Maiorano (1957 - ) was born in Crotone and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro in 1983 and almost immediately afterwards moved to Rome. Serafino Maiorano (1957 - ) was born in Crotone and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Catanzaro in 1983 and almost immediately afterwards moved to Rome. He has held numerous personal and collective exhibitions both in Italy and abroad, and in 2011 he was invited to participate in the 54th Venice Biennale. His works are mixes between painting and photography. Maiorano intervenes on the large aluminum plots with acrylic paint, exaggerating the effects of the lights or some details of the image, thus reconstructing and deconstructing the photography. Some of his works are present in the Farnesina collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in some museums and in various private collections.
