F. F. Mancini Biography
Francesco Federico Macini is full professor of History of Modern Art at the University of Perugia. His scientific production, consisting of over 200 titles, mainly concerns Italian art from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century. His studies focused on fifteenth-century painting in Umbria (Benedetto Bonfigli, Pietro di Galeotto, Pinturicchio, Perugino and Peruginism, Piermatteo d'Amelia), the Umbrian activity of Piero della Francesca, the early production of Raphael and the phenomenon of Raphaelitism in Perugia and Umbria, Federico Barocci and the spread of Baroqueism. Author of monographs on Raphael, Benedetto Bonfigli and Leonardo Scaglia, he curated, in collaboration with Vittoria Garibaldi, some major exhibitions: Perugino (2004), Pintoricchio (2007), Piermatteo d'Amelia (2009) and Signorelli (2012). He directed and largely edited the systematic catalogs of the museums of Bevagna, Città di Castello, Deruta, Nocera Umbra, Perugia (Valentino Martinelli Collection and Collection of the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation).
