Stefano Marangon Biography

Stefano Marangon (1974 - ), known as the painter of the sun, experimented and refined the self-taught "ecliographic" technique with which he creates ecological monotype engravings. Through the use of lenses of various sizes and convexities that filter and amplify the potential of the sun's rays, the artist engraves the wooden support with extraordinary skill, modulating the intensity and precision of the sign, at times more decisive, other times equipped with incredible lightness. The in-depth study of light and the particular creative process find correspondence in Marangon's attention to alchemical and cosmic themes. Stefano Marangon's art focuses on the Sun, which he not only represents recurrently in his works, but which he also uses to forge them, as a true creative force. Fundamental for the artist is the ecological theme which materializes in the renewability of the same solar energy used as a tool for drawing and in the use of recycled materials and colors.
