Mauro Marcenaro Biography
Mauro Marcenaro, also known as Bob Desnos, was born in 1961 in Genoa where he lives and works. He interrupted his university studies in the third year to dedicate himself to research on the knowledge of man from the inside. He began his artistic career using the techniques and means of the pictorial tradition, including Bologna chalk, shellac and powdered pigments, trying to keep the language of ancient art alive. Furthermore, he has always demonstrated an interest in digital and technological language, using electronic sound and 3D animation in his works since 1994. Subsequently, he developed audio-environmental installations that have shown in international exhibitions. In 2000, he was invited to hold some lessons on the topic of "painting and technology" at the Brera Academy in Milan. For over twenty years, Marcenaro has collaborated with artists from Central and Eastern Europe, conducting a project on the languages of art. In 2004, he participated in an exhibition in Tbilisi, Georgia, together with other European, Caucasian and American artists. In 2002, he founded the rebis-labs Association in Genoa, where he continues to carry out a project of anthropological art and research into individual mythologies.
