Mirco Marchelli Biography
Mirco Marchelli (1963 - ) was born in Novi Ligure in 1963; today he lives and works in Ovada. A multifaceted artist, he gives voice to his creativity by expressing it in music and poetry, but above all through painting. His works are almost sculptural objects, assemblages of used canvases, old flags, papers, wood, remains, which the artist brings back to life, making them witnesses of the past time and of his very personal vision of history. His works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions since 1994; the first exhibition abroad was in 1998 at the Sfeir Semler Gallery in Hamburg, followed in 2000 by the collective Carte blanche à Hélène de Franchis at the Lucien Durand Le Gaillard Gallery in Paris. In 2004 Marchelli took part in the Biennial of Sacred Art at the Stauros Museum in Isola del Gran Sasso (Teramo) and the following year he was present with Via Crucis at the Villafranca Piemonte Monastery in Turin and at the San Fedele Gallery in Milan in the collective exhibition "Sentire con the eyes".
