Rome, 1853 - 1909 Son of the engraver Augusto, he studied in Rome at the Accademia di San Luca and perfected his skills with M. Fortuny, adopting historical and genre themes. Already in 1871 he was the owner of a studio at number 33 on Via Margutta in Rome. After the success achieved at the Paris Salon in 1875 with After the Fight, he stayed in the French city from 1878. In 1881 he joined the Association of Watercolorists in Rome. In 1889 he participated in the Universal Exhibition in Paris (among others, Un mariage au XV siècle) and in 1906 at the National Exhibition in Milan (A concert of the 18th century).
