Sandra Marconato Biography
Sandra Marconato (1927-2016) lived and worked in Padua. He attended the Art Institute of Venice. She specialized at the Kvinnlge Industri Skole in Oslo. In 1965 he was commissioned by the OECD to conduct a survey aimed at the Symposium workshop International Textikunst in Graz. He obtained prestigious recognitions and prizes at the Venice Biennale (1950) and in numerous international craft, furniture and textile competitions (XII Triennale di Milano) , Grand Prize at the XVI International Fair of Sardinia, Eurodomus and Domus Ricerca, XXXIV International Venice Biennale, Prize ex aequo Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Crafts. VII International Tapisserie Biennial of Lausanne; London, Rotterdam; Duren, Linz; Textiles in Vicenza; Poitier; XVI International Bronze Biennial in Padua; X Biennale Paola and Lucia Dal Molin in Piove Di Sacco; Gubbio Biennial; International Biennial of Miniature Textiles, Szmbathely (Hungary). He has held personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad (Venice, Parma, Padua, Foggia Osmate, Dortmund, Heilbron, Graz). In 1996 the Municipality of Padua dedicated a large solo exhibition in the rooms of the Palazzo del Monte dei Pegni (Cassa di Risparmio), with an extensive critical-monographic catalogue.
