Giancarlo Marini Biography
Giancarlo Marini (1936 - ) He was born in Sesto Fiorentino (Fi) in 1936. From 1960 he began to exhibit ceramic works, bronze and wooden sculptures, proposing original artistic interpretations, exhibiting his works in collective and personal exhibitions of national and international interest acquiring numerous awards and recognitions. He increases his artistic activity with numerous examples of drawings and graphics. Furthermore, he created works for public and private commissions and appeared in important collections and museums. From 1969 to 2001 he worked at the Restoration Center of the Superintendency of Archaeological Heritage for Tuscany as a Specialized Restorer. At the same time he increased his artistic activity and was called upon to carry out teaching roles in the restoration of ceramic, stone and metal materials in professional training courses organized by the provinces of: Florence, Siena, Grosseto, Lucca, Ragusa, Sassari, Pesaro and Urbino , Belo Horizonte, Palermo and Salvador de Bahia (Brazil). Since 1990 Institute for Art and Restoration Palazzo Spinelli (FI). In 2006 he was appointed academic correspondent of the sculpture class of the Academy of Drawing Arts in Florence.
