Bepi Marino (1903 - 1975) is an artist born in Venice in 1903. His paintings mainly portray his own city with a refined and melancholy sensitivity. Matured in the period between the two wars, this artist brought twentieth-century tonalism into the post-war period, conveyed by a vibrant brushstroke of post-impressionist origin. Without worrying about updating his pictorial language on neocubist and surrealist modules, he interprets reality by simply relying on the tools of his trade, which he dominates without uncertainty.
