Luigi Marotti was born in San Leucio del Sannio. At a very young age he showed interest in painting and started painting. He then moved to Padua where he attended some free painting courses which allowed him to come into contact with the artistic environment of the city. The works of those years testify to his attachment to the south through warm colors, landscapes, villages and people. Subsequently, his art was influenced by the Venetian atmospheres and colors of the hills, villas and lagoon. In the 90s he began to develop an informal-abstract artistic research. He took inspiration from walls, graffiti and doors, which represent everyday territoriality, to express his sensations and emotions through colour. This led him to create the most recent works called "sedimentations". In 2007 the Municipality of Padua dedicated an exhibition to his art and the previous year he became the president of the "Città di Padova" artistic association. He coordinated and promoted numerous events such as the Trentennial City of Padua, Presences of contemporary art in the Triveneto area, the Manifesto for the rebirth of the Triveneta Biennale and City of Padua: 35 years for art.
