Iros Marpicati was born in Ghedi, in the province of Brescia, in 1933. After attending the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo with the artist Achille Funi, he began to exhibit his works in 1957. Subsequently, he obtained a diploma from the Brera Art School . Marpicati began studying at the Faculty of Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Milan, but decided to abandon his studies to dedicate himself completely to painting.
His art is based on existential evocations and for many years he has moved between Brescia and Milan, where he has set up several personal exhibitions. Among the most recent, the one set up at the Stelline Foundation in Milan in November/December 2010 and the one at the Chiostro del Bramante in Rome in September/October 2011 stand out. Furthermore, he has participated in important events and art exhibitions.
