Margherita Martinelli Biography

Margherita Martinelli was born in 1981 in Crema. She attended the Liceo Artistico Munari before enrolling at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she graduated with honors with a thesis on Anselm Kiefer. After graduating, he worked as a tutor in the Sculpture and Ornamental Plastics course at the Brera Academy for two years. Margherita dedicated herself mainly to painting and collaborated with Italian and international galleries that promoted her work.
Her first trip to Japan over the years fascinated Margherita with oriental culture and traditional Japanese painting techniques. Margherita was also a finalist for the Donato Frisia Award in 2007 and winner of the Patrizia Barlettani public award in 2009 at the Galleria San Lorenzo in Milan. In 2011, she was a finalist for the Ciaccio Broker Prize for young Italian painting at ArtVerona.
Since 2011, he has been part of the artists of the Barsky Gallery in New York and has participated in several fairs in the United States, including Aaf New York and Market Art & Design Hamptons. In 2013, she was invited by Lorella Giudici to take part in the Brain Art project in Vercelli. In 2015, he created an installation inside the Raumen Museum in Shin-Yokohama for the CasaLuca Milano project.
Currently, Margherita's works are handled by Italian and foreign galleries, including the Ghiggini Gallery, Zaion Gallery and Palmieri Gallery, as well as the Barsky Gallery in New York.
