Jonathan Meese (born 23 January 1970 in Tokyo) is a German painter, sculptor, artist and installation artist based in Berlin and Hamburg. Meese's works (often multimedia) include paintings, collages, drawings and writings. He also designs theater sets and wrote and acted in a play, De Frau: Dr. Poundaddylein - Dr. Ezodysseusszeusuzur in 2007 at the VolksbühneTheatre. It deals mainly with personalities of world history, myths and primordial heroes. Jonathan Meese lives and works in Ahrensburg and Berlin.
