Giuliano Menegon (1945 - ) was born in Venice on 26 February 1945. He lives and works in Genoa. He has exhibited in personal and collective exhibitions since 1972, both in Italy and abroad. Menegon's intense artistic career, characterized by a total adherence to the musicality of poetic verses and by an extreme sensitivity to grasp the narrative spirit of some of the most significant contemporary literary episodes, reveals an effective synergy between different expressive fields, which enhances the expressive potential of his painting. Giuliano Menegon's paintings, inspired by the poems of some of the most important voices of the twentieth century, from Eugenio Montale to Rainer Maria Rilke, from Dino Campana to Thomas S. Eliot, from Ezra Pound to Thomas Bernhard, to arrive at the most recent influenced works from the dramatic lyrical tensions of Paul Celan, project the spectator into the double dramatic abyss of the desperate solitude of the victim and the frightening abjection of the executioner, both devoid of their humanity.
