Vasco Menegozzo (1886 - 1974) born in Venice, arrived in Genoa where he attended the Nautical Institute, becoming a naval engineer. After enrolling at the Linguistic Academy of Fine Arts in Genoa; his first debut dates back to the 57th Exhibition of Fine Arts in Genoa. He took part in the First World War and also received the silver medal for military valour. Upon his return to the city, he took part in the annual exhibitions of the Genoese Promoter; he exhibits in Turin, Milan, Monza and Rome. In 1926 he showed himself to be a skilled artist in interpreting landscapes, seascapes and figures. In the years around 1920 he tackled the pointillist technique in the wake of the great Genoese artists of the nineteenth century such as Previati and Nomellini. Subsequently his art will move towards a traditional painting made of light and atmosphere, through the use of a material brushstroke and a very lively palette. His works are present in numerous private collections and in the municipality of Genoa.
