Born in Rocca Fiorita (Messina) in 1949, he graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He teaches at the Liceo Artistico Statale I in Milan; currently he dedicates himself, in addition to oil painting, to woodcuts and mosaics. He has always combined artistic research and social commitment, also dealing with illustration and collaborating with various magazines and advertising agencies. In 1975 he began his exhibition activity, participating in the Quadrennial in Rome and at the Salon de la Jeune Peinture in Paris in 1976 and 1978. In 1982 he founded the ATELIER group with other artists, which exhibited at the Palazzo Dugnani in Milan. Other exhibitions followed in Italy and France: among the numerous group exhibitions in which he participated we mention: Permanente at the Museo della Permanente in Milan in 1990, XXXII Biennale d'Arte Città do Milano and VII Triennale dell'engravure again at the Pemanente in Milan in 1994, venature in Berlin in 1995, Metropoli in Lacchiarella in 1996, Lo ufficio poetico in Trento in 1997 and Atelier at la Posteria in Milan in 1998. He held a personal exhibition, entitled Stanze per amnesia, at the Galleria Amnesia in Alessandria in 1986.
