Michaeledes Michael (1923 - 2015) was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1923. He studied Architecture and Fine Arts at the University of Milan, and at the Central Polytechnic in London, where he lived from 1955 until his death in 2015, working as an artist and architect . The first exhibition of his work took place in 1959 in the Leicester Galleries, followed by numerous solo exhibitions in various European cities. He also participated in group exhibitions abroad, while in 1976 he represented Greece at the Venice Biennale together with Aglaia Lyberaki. Michael Michaeledes' painting initially focused on humans and everyday life, but from around 1959 he gradually turned to abstract works, in which the artist explores patterns of light. Since 1964 he has been regularly involved in rescue work. Using canvas on a wooden frame, he produced a multitude of constructions that extend freely in space, animated by the play of light and shadow.
