MIM (Modern Italian Furniture) was founded in Rome in 1957 as a company for the design, construction and sale of furniture. The direction of production was aimed in particular at furniture for the home and professional offices. Many famous architects have been called to collaborate with Mobili MIM. Among others Enrico Ascione, Luigi Pellegrin, Renato Venturi, Giuseppe Zammerini and Ico Parisi. The historic MIM furniture store in Rome opened in 1964 in the wonderful Piazza Augusto Imperatore, designed by the architect Luigi Pellegrin. Unfortunately it closed in 2001.
