Maurilio Minuzzi (9 March 1939) is a Venetian painter, graphic designer and sculptor who lives and works in Cologne. Minuzzi attended the School of Applied Arts in Milan from 1955 to 1957 with a specialization in "drawing after nature" with Carlo Russi. After an apprenticeship as a draftsman (1957-1959) and a visit to Silvio Pellico's engineering school in Milan, he worked in various professions. In 1965 he went to Germany and enrolled in the Kölner Werkschulen from 1966 to 1970. After graduating and working as a freelancer in the Rhineland, in 1972 he was appointed professor of "Graphic Arts Techniques" at the University of Art and Design in Cologne. There he worked until the study programs for "free" art were closed (with the founding of the Academy of Media Arts, KHM). In the 40 years of his artistic career he has had more than 100 solo exhibitions in Europe and the United States. In 1994 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in the Knight class.
