Gino Miozzo Biography
Miozzo, Gino, architect, engineer, (Padua 1898 - Padua 1969), SIUSA He attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, obtaining the diploma of professor of architectural drawing in 1923. He remained for a short period in the environment of the Venetian Academy. Subsequently he lived in Rome for at least two years. Having returned to Padua, he participated in some design competitions in the years 1927-1928, such as those for the building of the Provincial Council of the Economy and the National Insurance Institute of Padua, as well as that for the cathedral of La Spezia. He obtained the title of architect "for particular merits" based on Royal Decree n. 2145 of 22 October 1927. In 1928 he registered with the architects' register. In December 1929 he participated, in collaboration with F. Mansutti, in the IV Triennale of Monza. It was the beginning of a professional partnership that would end only at the end of the 1960s with the death of the two architects. Under the banner of architectural rationalism, the two professionals participated with their works in the most significant exhibition events of the 1930s. They joined the MIAR (Italian Movement for Rational Architecture) and, from 1932 to 1937, worked assiduously for the National Opera Balilla, creating its headquarters for various Italian cities. After the war, the activity of the associated studio continued with interventions mainly aimed at the Padua area. He marries Annamaria Frimmel. The professional partnership that began at the end of the 1920s and continued until the end of the 1960s with the architect F. Mansutti was fundamental, with whom he created the associated studio "Architetti F. Mansutti G. Miozzo". The relationship of cultural commonality with the MIAR (Italian Movement for Rational Architecture) and within it with the architect G. Pagano is significant. The relationship with R. Ricci led to the start of a professional relationship with the Opera Nazionale Balilla, of which Ricci is president.
