Victor Mira Biography
Victor Mira (1949 - 2003) was born in Zaragoza in 1949. His career was marked by self-taught, developing the bulk of his work between painting, drawing and sculpture. His taste for art from a young age meant that he channeled his career, because with only eighteen years he was able to organize his first sculpture exhibition in his hometown, Zaragoza, coinciding with this last exhibition it was also the first which was held outdoors. During the seventies, the young Victor peninsula traveled to various places such as Madrid, Barcelona and Pamplona and then traveled around to discover countries such as Germany or the United States, where he was invited by the Meadows Museum in Dallas. His passion for art came from the hand of a taste for literature. In addition to the publications, he began working on his book Terra in 1979, and at the beginning of the 1980s he prepared his book of engravings, One Hundred Images of Africa, which was published years later, in 1996. A frenetic activity can be seen in his career , exhibitions take place in different parts of the peninsula, including European and American publications and his works are constantly diversifying, posters, posters, poems, paintings, sculptures and graphic works. He concluded the nineties with his first photographic exhibition in New York. With the new century, Mira continues to work on her line, covering different techniques, holding exhibitions, publishing her work in any format and reaping successes. His work is part of museums and public collections such as Albertina Museum (Vienna, Austria), Colección Los Bragales (Santander, Spain), Cortes de Aragón (Zaragoza, Spain), Diputación Provincial de Zaragoza (Zaragoza, Spain), Graphische Sammlung in der Staatsgalerie (Stuttgart, Germany), Kunstmuseum (Basel, Switzerland), MoMA Museum of Modern Art (New York), Museo de Bellas Artes (Vitoria), Neue Galerie der Stant (Linz, Austria) and 'MNCARS Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia' (Madrid).
