Mauro Modin (Bergamo, 19 July 1963) is an Italian painter. His works are closely connected and contaminated by the musical universe, in particular Jazz. He trained artistically by attending the Marco Polo art school in Venice, where he was a pupil of Ferruccio Bortoluzzi, his art teacher, who had a notable influence on the development of his works. In 1982 he participated in his first collective exhibition at the Bevilacqua la Masa Foundation (Venice), where he obtained recognition from the jury, which was unanimous in recognizing his creative predisposition. He exhibits at many Jazz Festivals in Italy and Europe, enriching his artistic career thanks to the collaboration with renowned musicians. In 2012 he held a solo show at the Teatro dal Verme in collaboration with Yusef Lateef. Modin was the only visual artist to hold a solo exhibition in the interior spaces of the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In 2013 his works (150 paintings and installations) were collected in an anthological exhibition (1978-2013) set up inside the Contemporary Park of Forte Marghera Mestre.
