Elisa Montessori was born in Genoa in 1931, she graduated in literature at the University of Rome. Among the most important exhibitions: in 1982 he participated in the XL Venice Biennale “Aperto '82/tempo”, curated by T.Trini. In 1993 Palazzo delle Exhibitions in Rome, “homage to Ingeborg Bachmann” with G. Beitling. In 1999 he exhibited at the La Sapienza University of Rome - Laboratory Museum of Contemporary Art “Elisa Montessori. When the sign becomes sound”, edited by C. Terenzi. In 2006 at the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome with “Elisa Montessori. Shanghai Blues” edited by L. Velani. In 2007 Biblioteca Angelica – Galleria Angelica in Rome, “Elisa Montessori. Hybrid Books” where he exhibits around a hundred “hybrid” volumes: small and medium-sized books, notebooks, notebooks and albums. In 2009 he participated in the 53rd Venice Biennale “Fare Mondi/ Making Worlds” directed by Daniel Birnbaumb. He currently lives and works in Rome.
