Olga Morano Biography

Olga Morano was born in 1935 and spent much of her life on the fringes of the artistic currents of her time. Although his work has affinities with the conceptual movement, it is characterized by a strong poetic and dreamlike feeling. Morano drew inspiration from mathematical rules to create works that often fall halfway between sculpture, painting and photography.
He began his artistic training at the Ecole de Dessin du Grand Art and the Paris Academy, and then perfected himself at the Brera Academy in Milan and the Rome Academy. In 1965 he moved to Brussels and began working on the transformation of mathematical figures into mathematical-poetic images, through the explosion of the image. Through this work, the artist wants to demystify mathematical language and create a new form of poetic communication, sometimes very plastic, sometimes graphic.
His works were presented in 1969 at the Withofs Gallery in Brussels and in 1971 at the Schwartz Gallery in Milan. He collaborates with Jean-Clarence Lambert, whose "Code" he illustrates, and maintains avant-garde and Dadaist relationships in Brussels with Mr. Marïen and Mr. Broodthaers.
In 1975 he exhibited at the Alexandra Monett Gallery in Brussels, at the Provisional Museum of Modern Art in Brussels and at the "Margareta de Boeve" Gallery in Assenede. Several of his works are preserved in the Brussels Museum. Olga Morano was mentioned in "Deux Siècles de Signatures d'Artistes de Belgique".
