Moretti Giuseppe (Siena, 1857 - Sanremo, 1935) Giuseppe Moretti began studying at the age of 9 with the sculptor Tito Serocchi. He moved first to Florence, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of the sculptor Giovanni Duprè and then to Carrara. In Carrara in 1879 he met the Croatian artist Ivan Rendic, who invited Moretti to Zagreb, the main cultural center of the Balkan Peninsula. He subsequently moved to Vienna, where among other works he also executed a marble bust of Emperor Franz Joseph, exhibited at the First International of 1900. He became very popular in the Pittsburgh area, creating works such as "the Panther" and the entrance to the Schenley Park in Pittsburgh. He later moved to Alabama, where he created some of his best-known work.
